Onslaught: Borussia Dortmund registered 26 shots at goal in Leipzig, which is more than in any other game this season. The last away game in which they registered so many shots was almost two years ago (3-0 in Augsburg in May 2023). The statisticians counted 21 of the 26 shots at goal in the second period. The last time BVB had that many shots in a half was over nine years ago in a 3-1 home win against Hoffenheim (February 2016). The last time Borussia had so many shots at goal and did not find the back of the net was in September 2017, when none of their 27 shots bore fruit in a goalless draw away to Freiburg. Nine Borussia players had at least one shot at goal, with Guirassy, Beier and Gittens having the most attempts at five each.

Woodwork: Borussia Dortmund were saved by the post and bar twice in the first 45 minutes; then the Black & Yellows struck the post or bar themselves on three occasions after the interval. There has not been any other game this season that has seen the woodwork struck five times in total.
