A former member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is in attendance at the club’s final La Liga outing of the campaign on Saturday.

The player in question? Mateo Kovacic.

Real Madrid are of course primed to return to action in short order, having welcomed Real Sociedad to the Spanish capital as part of the gameweek 38 fixtures in La Liga.

The matchup marks a special one for the Santiago Bernabéu hosts for a pair of reasons, in representing the final home game of Carlo Ancelotti and Luka Modrić’s legendary respective Blancos careers.

The Real Madrid faithful, in turn, have flooded to their side’s ground, to bid farewell to a pair of icons.

And as alluded to above, such supporters have been joined by a one-time Real Madrid midfielder on Saturday, too.

As per journalist Sergio Quirante, Manchester City star Mateo Kovacic is present at the Bernabéu, to show support for compatriot and close friend Modrić.
