Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram admits that his dad will be supporting Juventus in Sunday’s Derby d’Italia clash.

The Frenchman spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. He noted that his dad Lilian will be moved by his own past with the Bianconeri as well as his brother Khephren playing for the Turin giants.

When Thuram joined Inter last summer, it showed that his father’s past with Juventus wasn’t going to get in the way of his son’s career moves.

The Frenchman joined the Nerazzurri from Borussia Monchengladbach.

Since Thuram was joining on a free transfer, it was entirely his decision to join Inter. And he saw it as the right move because he felt that he’d thrive playing under Simone Inzaghi.

And that is certainly how it has proven since Thuram made the move to Inter.

Moreover, Lilian has been a supportive father throughout.

The legendary former Juventus and Parma defender may have kidded around with his son and admitted that he retains sympathies for Inter’s Derby d’Italia rivals.

But Lilian has been pleased to see his son become a superstar striker in Serie A. Even if it’s been at the Nerazzurri.

Marcus Thuram Admits: “My Dad Will Be Supporting Juventus”

Over the summer, the situation changed a bit though.

23-year-old midfielder Khephren Thuram joined Juventus from Nice.

As with Marcus, Khephren made a move to a team that was a logical choice to be his next step on the pitch.

But unlike with Marcus, this happened to be more convenient for Lilian’s former club leanings.

Naturally, Lilian Thuram will want to see both of his sons shine on Sunday. But he will have other priorities as well.

Marcus said that “Sunday will be beautiful.”

“My whole family will be there,” the 27-year-old added.

And Marcus admitted that “My dad will be supporting Juventus – he played for them, and now my little brother’s there.”
