Osborne’s side were looking to avenge the loss to Fulham who knocked them out of the FA Cup.
Brentford had to soak a lot of pressure in the early moments of the game as the home side controlled the possession.
Ella Tagliavini hit the crossbar for the hosts from a corner as goalkeeper Sophie Boycott did well to put her under pressure.
Sophie Boycott was then forced off with injury in her attempts to put off Tagliavini as Kirsty Matthews was subbed on to replace her between the sticks.
Matthews was called into action immediately as she made a good fingertips save to deny Fulham from a corner.
Fulham took the lead with their first attacking passage of play in the second period as Stella Morgan was in the right place to strike into the goal.
Neither side were creating chances as both defences were resolute throughout the contest.
Second-half substitute Alissa Down, had a shot which deflected into the hands of the keeper.
With ten minutes to go, Fulham doubled their lead as in her attempts to clear a free-kick Carolin Engelhard’s header was diverted into into her own net.
That was how the game would end as Brentford were knocked out of the League Cup.
