Reports in Italy claim that Manchester City are planning to submit an official offer for Juventus defender and Italy international Andrea Cambiaso in the coming days, despite recent reports claiming that the 24-year-old is unlikely to leave Turin in January.

Reports earlier in the January transfer window claimed that City are interested in pursuing a deal for the versatile Bianconeri defender, but an official proposal has not yet arrived.

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, City could lodge an official bid for Cambiaso within the next two days. The Pink Paper suggests that it is a matter of ‘when, rather than if’ City make an official bid.

Thursday’s report claims that Pep Guardiola’s side plan to table an official proposal in the region of €65m for Cambiaso, while previous reports claim that he is valued internally at a figure of €80m.

La Gazzetta suggests that if Cambiaso is sold to Manchester City, then the funds raised would be used to reinvest in the defence in the form of either David Hancko from Feyenoord, Lloyd Kelly from Newcastle or potentially Kevin Danso from RC Lens.

It has been an active January transfer window for the Bianconeri, who have already welcomed Alberto Costa from Vitoria Guimaraes, and are now expecting to announce a deal with PSG for Randal Kolo Muani, and are preparing to welcome Renato Veiga from Chelse
