Newcastle United star Lewis Miley with a superb man of the match performance on Sunday.
His first start in ten months and he marked it with a superb goal.
Difficult to believe he is still only 18, the teenager declaring after his goalscoring return to the starting eleven; “I have been itching to get a start. I think I have come back stronger and better. I’m on the rise now.”
Lewis Miley certainly appears to have filled out a bit, standing easily over 6ft, it was always going to take his body time to catch up when making such a brilliant impression as a 17 year old last season.
A bad time with injuries and now desperate to make up for lost time, Miley looked to be full of confidence on the pitch on Sunday and looks to have a huge career in front of him.
Lewis Miley speaking to BBC Sport following an excellent performance against Bromley, which included a stunning goal:
“I saw the goal light up and thought I’d have a strike.
“Some of the lads were saying get a shot off.
“Buzzing with that.
“That’s my second goal for my boyhood club,,, it can’t really be any better.
“I have been itching to get a start.
“I think I have come back stronger and better. I’m on the rise now.
“You can’t underestimate teams like this.
“Unreal feeling.
“Hopefully I get a lot more games like that.
“Really exciting [season].
“Hopefully against Arsenal we can get that win and get to the [Carabao Cup] final.”
