Coventry City’s hunt for Rangers star Rabbi Matondo ‘is in doubt’, with both clubs failing to agree bonus payments so far, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Rangers are looking to refresh their squad in the ongoing window and they are focusing on making space for new faces by offloading players.
24-year-old Matondo is not in Philippe Clement’s plans for the future and has been told to find a club.
Matondo is gathering interest from English Championship sides, with Frank Lampard’s Coventry City being particularly keen.
Coventry are in contact with Rangers to negotiate a loan deal for the Gers forward in the ongoing window.
However, Matondo’s move to the south of the border faces doubt as Rangers and Coventry have been unable to agree on bonus payments.
Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland have been linked with the forward in the ongoing window and it might provide them an opportunity to hijack Coventry’s deal.
Now all eyes will be on Rangers and Coventry to see whether they can come to an agreement regarding Matondo.
