Nicolo Barella says he wants to “show his best” against PSG.
The Italian international spoke to InterTV, via FCInterNews, ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final. He also talked about Inter Milan’s desire to “rewrite the ending” of their loss to Manchester City two years ago.
Inter Milan are just over 48 hours away from facing Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
This will be a season-defining match for the Nerazzurri.
And it will be a final that could be decided by the performances of Inter’s most important players.
Midfielder Nicolo Barella is certainly one of those for Inter. He has been at the heart of the Nerazzurri’s successes, both domestically and in Europe, over the last five or six years.

Midfielder Nicolo Barella reflected on his growth. “I’m definitely less instinctive in some situations,” he said.
“I’ve smoothed out some aspects of my character,” he added. “Thanks to the coach and to my teammates, who’ve helped me a lot.”
“I can only thank them. And I’m happy that this is also plain to see from outside.”
Barella then reflected, “I don’t know if this is the best moment of my career.”
“But on Saturday I will try and show the best version of myself,” he declared.
Meanwhile, Barella also spoke about his favourite moment of Inter’s run to the Champions League final. “It wasn’t a play that I made,” admitted the former Cagliari midfielder.
“Acerbi’s goal [a stoppage time equalizer against Barcelona] was definitely the one that made us believe in the comeback and reaching the final.”
“There were other important moments,” said Barella. “But that was the most exciting.”
“Then, thanks to Davide [Frattesi, scorer of Inter’s extra time winner against Barcelona] we got to the final.”
Barella commented that “teamwork is the most important thing.”
“That’s the thing that’s always distinguished us.”

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that Inter have been in the Champions League final.
Just two years ago, the Nerazzurri made it to this stage as well. However, their season ended in heartbreak, as they went toe-to-toe with Manchester City but still lost the match 0-1.
Nicolo Barella commented that “beyond the wins, what matters is the journey.”
“I think that the club is back where it deserves to be,” the 28-year-old went on. “Not because of me, but I just try to play my little part in it.”
“Saturday will be the second final in three years for us,” Barella noted.
“And that means a lot to us. It’s a source of pride.”
“We’ll try and rewrite the ending,” Barella said, looking back on the loss to City.
Meanwhile, Barella named “the match in Munich” as a personal highlight of Inter’s run through the Champions League knockout rounds this season. The Nerazzurri beat Bayern Munich 2-1 in the first leg away of their quarterfinal tie.
Inter won thanks to a very late goal by midfielder Davide Frattesi. Barella recalled that “the action that led to Frattesi’s goal was instinctive.”
“But it was a team effort,” he added. “I think we deserved to win that night.”
