Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi hopes to have his injured stars back in the fold ahead of a brutal fixture schedule.

The Scudetto-winning manager talked to Inter TV after last night’s win against Como via FCInterNews.

At the beginning, he hailed his team’s performance in a dramatic 2-0 victory.

“We won as a mature team. We faced an organized side that caused us some difficulties.”

However, Inter navigated another challenging task on sheer gulf in class.

Indeed, Carlos Augusto and Marcus Thuram breached Como’s defense twice after the break to secure three vital points.

“We stayed focused and struck at the right moment.

“We were quicker in moving the ball from one side to the other.

“And Como had spent a lot of energy in the first half, so we knew we would find more spaces in the second half.

“Como came to play with a very proactive style, and when the moment came, we struck.”

Inter Milan Manager Simone Inzaghi Hopes Injury Crisis Will Subside Soon

Inzaghi couldn’t emphasize enough the importance of his side’s collective effort.

“I’m very happy because the team stayed focused, always maintaining the right distances, and won a very important match,” he added.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Pavard and Francesco Acerbi didn’t make the matchday squad.

Both defenders remain on the treatment table.

However, the latter could return from injury next weekend, with Inter heading to Sardinia to meet Cagliari.

It’s still uncertain when Pavard will rejoin the squad.

As for Matteo Darmian, he’s out with a minor fitness issue.

But Inzaghi hopes it’ll be sooner rather than later.

“We had absences from Pavard and Acerbi, and Darmian also joined in, while De Vrij had some issues but made himself available today,” he said.

“We need to try to recover the players who are out because, at the moment, we have some numerical problems.”
