Southampton has finally broken their losing streak for good. Understandably, boss Ivan Juric was pumped after the 2-1 win over Ipswich, motivating his side for the season ahead.
Just tell me, you weren't on cloud nine after Paul Onuachu's late winner secured a win for Southampton last night? Well, you can't, if you are a true Saints fan.
Winning it in the end, against the odds, it couldn't have been any better for Southampton's low-lying confidence.
An electrifying contest like this was enough to move even the most unfeeling person, let alone boss Ivan Juric. Naturally, the manager looked elated for his first Premier League win with Southampton.
As per the Daily Echo, speaking post-match, Juric said: "We have to believe that we are not as bad as it seems and try to win the other games."
While a similar statement was heard days back when Eddie Howe praised Southampton's resilience, these words carry profound significance.
Let's be real, despite their previous losses, the Saints had looked competitive lately. To the extent that boss Juric himself looked bewildered of why a win still felt far.
And lo! Then the Saints put this performance, not letting the manager's word go in vain.
Surely, a long-overdue win like this feels worth celebrating, but nothing feels better than performing this way regularly. In fact, that's what manager Ivan Juric asked from his players ahead.
Motivating the squad, Juric continued: "We have to believe, we have to play every time like this, working hard during the week and then we will see."
A win here could set their self-esteem at an all-time high while a loss would be the end of any leftover hopes of silverware, this year.
