Leicester City are among several clubs chasing Manchester United youngster Jack Kingdon ahead of the summer transfer window.
Led by United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy, Leicester are heading to the Championship, as it is now certain they will not escape the danger zone. The Foxes sit 19th in the league standings, 16 points behind 17th-placed West Ham United with three games to play.
As such, the focus is now on the next season at King Power Stadium. It remains uncertain if Van Nistelrooy would remain in charge of the club next season but Leicester have already started exploring the market for reinforcements.
According to EFL Analysis, Leicester are keen on signing Kingdon this summer.
The 19-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for United but he has trained with the club’s first-team. United signed the Scottish talent from Morecambe in 2020.
After excelling at United’s youth setup, Kingdon joined Rochdale on loan in January for the remainder of the 2024/25 season to get a taste of senior football.
However, the report claims the academy graduate is “confirmed to be leaving” United at the end of the campaign.
The Red Devils will not extend his contract, which is due to expire in May.
Apart from Leicester, Millwall, Derby County and Wrexham have also shown interest in the former Scotland U19 international.
It is understood that all these clubs “would be keen for his experience at a big club like United.”
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United have also decided to release Sam Murray and James Nolan at the end of the term.
Meanwhile, Leicester could lose one of their most gifted talents to the Mancunians, as it has emerged that the Premier League giants have made an offer for Jake Evans, who has drawn comparisons to Jamie Vardy with his goalscoring prowess.
