Jose Mourinho is interested in reuniting with Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof at Fenerbahce, as per reports.

Earlier this week, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is the advisor to the AC Milan owners, wants Lindelof at San Siro “at all costs.”

Ibrahimovic shared the dressing room with Lindelof in Manchester and is now reported to be keen on convincing his compatriot to join Milan amid “a lot of competition.”

Meanwhile, as per Turkish outlet Sabah (via Sport Witness), Mourinho, who managed both Ibrahimovic and Lindelof at United, is hoping for a possible reunion with his former defender.

According to the report, the Portuguese is “working closely” with Fenerbahce director of football Mario Branco on possible targets, and the United central defender is believed to be on his “radar”.

During his time as United manager, Mourinho signed the Sweden international from Benfica in 2017.

The 30-year-old has entered the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, and clubs outside England will be able to agree a pre-contract agreement with him in January.

Accordingly, the Turkish giants are “closely” monitoring his situation. At this point, it remains unclear if they will look to secure his services in January or wait for him to become a free agent at the end of the season.

As far as United are concerned, there is no indication that they want to extend Lindelof’s stay in Manchester.

The Swede has become a bit part player under Ten Hag, who has invested heavily on centre-backs ever since taking over at the helm.

Further, Lindelof has also struggled with injuries in recent years. Due to fitness issues, he missed the opening games of the new campaign, and only made his first appearance against Aston Villa over the weekend.

After benching Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs de Ligt at Villa, the United gaffer relied on Jonny Evans, 36, instead of Lindelof, who was a second half substitute for right-back Noussair Mazraoui in his side’s goalless draw.
