Jude Bellingham has admitted Kylian Mbappe is now "flying" at Real Madrid as he warned teams across Europe they will struggle to stop the Frenchman.

After his high-profile free transfer to Madrid during the summer, Mbappe endured a famously woeful start to life in Spain but, after hitting "rock bottom" with a series of missed penalties in December, has been back to his dazzling best in 2025.

Wednesday's hat-trick against Manchester City took Mbappe's return for the season to 27 goals in 37 games for Los Blancos, and Bellingham was keen to praise his new teammate's impact this year.

"It's brilliant, you go into games knowing he is going to affect them if you give him the ball," Bellingham told TNT Sports after the victory over City.

"You know when Kylian gets the ball in areas that he likes to get the ball, he's going to be dangerous. Right foot, left foot, you saw the different kind of goals today.

"It's incredible really, what he's done in his career. I know he had a slow start and he was kind of getting used to life here but now he's just flying and it's a pleasure to watch."

Mbappe later admitted his adjustment period was now over as he vowed to bring major success to Madrid.

"I want to play well here, I want to make a mark on the season," he said. "I want to write history with Real Madrid. The adaptation period for me has ended and now I have to show my quality.

"It was a perfect night for the team. When you play against Manchester City it is always a difficult game but we knew that at home we would be very strong. We have to continue in this way if we are to win what we want to win this season."
