On Tuesday afternoon, Jürgen Klopp was finally unveiled as the new Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull after leaving Liverpool in the summer.

Despite reports suggesting that the former Borussia Dortmund head coach would be next in line for the role as the head coach of the German national team after Euro 2024, Klopp elected to make the move to Red Bull in search of a new adventure.

While the 57-year-old has already ruled out the possibility of managing one of the Red Bull clubs, a return to the dugout has not been dispelled by Klopp, who stated, “I will not be the coach of a Red Bull team. That is a clear commitment.”

However, during the unveiling, Klopp was questioned about his previous side, Liverpool, where Mohamed Salah became the key talking point.

When asked about the 32-year-old’s future, Klopp commented (via Florian Plettenberg): “I hope he stays. He is Liverpool’s greatest striker of modern times. A fantastic human being. The best ambassador Egypt could have. A fantastic athlete.”

It is no secret that Salah’s contract at Anfield is set to expire in the summer, and should the Premier League outfit lose the Egyptian international, they will have to find someone to replicate his consistent and relentless form.

Did Liverpool miss out on Omar Marmoush?

Over the past few months, a fellow Egyptian had been speculated to be Salah’s natural heir over in Merseyside, but it appears that Manchester City could snatch him away before the Reds get the chance.

Omar Marmoush has already agreed to personal terms with the Citizens, and a deal between Eintracht Frankfurt and Pep Guardiola’s side seems imminent.

Therefore, should Salah decide to leave Anfield, could Marmoush take over Salah’s mantle as Egypt’s finest and become the new face of Egyptian football?
