Manchester United are in the process of finding the perfect goalscorers to add to their squad in the summer after a disappointing season from their current attackers.

Rasmus Hojlund has been the biggest failure with a mere three Premier League goals to his name. He can point to a lack of service, which Ruben Amorim is also keen to fix.

Matheus Cunha of Wolverhampton Wanderers is seen as the perfect signing, who can play all across the frontline and even up front.

The Brazilian has 17 goals in all competitions and six assists and added a goal and two assists to his tally on Saturday. And the Red Devils are eager to get the deal done as quickly as possible.

Cunha deal close

The Peoples Person had already relayed that confidence was growing that an agreement can be found and that a couple of meetings would make matters sure.

Now, Givemesport have added that both the club and the Wolves star’s camp will sit for a “key meeting” next week which is regarding personal terms.

United have already met Cunha’s camp and preliminary talks regarding wages and his position in Amorim’s plans have been discussed. Next week’s meeting should ensure personal terms are taken care of.

“Manchester United are set to hold talks with Matheus Cunha over financial terms next week, GIVEMESPORT sources have been informed.

“Cunha’s representatives have already held talks with the club over their project and plans for the 25-year-old.”

Key meeting next week

Club-to-club talks have not taken place but the 20-time English league champions already have an assurance that an installment-based deal can be agreed with the West Midlands outfit.

Thankfully for United, Cunha has no qualms about a potential lack of European football and is open to the idea of playing at Old Trafford.

His arrival could signal the end of Alejandro Garnacho’s time in Manchester. In case a deal does not pan out, Xavi Simons has been kept as a backup option.

Apart from the Brazil international, United also want Liam Delap of Ipswich Town but will have to battle Chelsea to win the race.
