Lazio Sporting Director Angelo Fabiani reportedly held a meeting with the representatives of Viktoria Plzen striker Rafiu Durosinmi.
The 22-year-old is a Lagos native who started his career in Nigeria before moving to the Czech Republic, initially through Karvina, then Plzen in 2023. While he has yet to cement himself as a regular starter, he still managed to score five goals in his nine appearances this season, including the equalizer against Marco Baroni’s men on Thursday.
The centre-forward put his header past Ivan Provedel to level the scoring in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16, but Gustav Iskasen still managed to snatch a last-minute winner for 9-man Lazio in dramatic fashion.
Nevertheless, Il Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) reveals that Fabiani took the opportunity to meet the striker’s agents ahead of the away fixture in Plzen. As the source explains, Lazio have now rekindled their interest in Durosinmi who was already on their radar last summer. The Roman newspaper estimates his value at around €10 million.
The Nigerian bomber is tall, versatile, mobile and possesses impressive dribbling skills. Therefore, he might be a profile that the Biancocelesti lack. Baroni is currently struggling to replace the injured Taty Castellanos, with Tijjani Noslin and Loum Tchaouna unable to fill the gap upfront, while Boulaye Dia has been confirmed in the attacking-midfielder role.
