Rafael Leao sent an intriguing message via social media after Milan’s victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night, sharing a quote that read: “I ain’t let sh** stop me,” after he returned to the starting line-up after starting on the bench in all of his side’s last three Serie A matches.
Leao was one of the stars of the show as Milan rose to a shock 3-1 victory against the current Champions League holders away at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Though he was not on the scoresheet himself, he played a massive role in teeing up Alvaro Morata and Tijjani Reijnders for the second and third Rossoneri goals of the night.
Leao has had his fair share of critics since the start of the 2024-25 season.
Milan had endured a slightly rocky start to their domestic and European campaigns, including back-to-back losses against Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen at the beginning of the Champions League campaign.
Leao and Theo Hernandez were also involved in an incident where they appeared to ignore Paulo Fonseca’s on-field team talk after coming on as substitutes in a 2-2 draw with Lazio at the end of August, which led to further blows in the press.
Later down the line, Leao was removed from the starting line-up again, but he returned in emphatic fashion against Real Madrid, leading to ‘world-class’ reviews from La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Among the pictures that Leao posted on social media after the Real Madrid victory, there was also one of US-rapper Lil Durk along with a quote that read: “I was hurting and hustling at the same time. I still ain’t let sh** stop me.”
