Leicester should move on from Vardy with fresh Championship start

Jamie Vardy has been part of Leicester since 2012. He has seen the club get promoted twice and hoist the Premier League and FA Cup trophies. Right now, however, the Foxes are in a different place. It's clear that LCFC belongs at the Championship level.

Even if the East Midlands side were able to earn promotion again within the next couple of years, City would have little hope of staying up in the Premier League. There isn't anything suggesting that a competitive roster will be able to make a serious push on any front.

This then brings the discussion toward Vardy. The attacker has been tremendous and highly important throughout multiple campaigns. It's time, though, for him to be moved on. He could still offer a good punch up top, but asking him to endure the current undertakings and disorganization at LCFC is unfair.

Currently, players in this era aren't like past ones in which players would stick at one club for the entirety of their careers anymore. He spent his best years with the Foxes and should be given the chance to 'go off into the sunset.' If he sticks around this Leicester team, only frustration and an even sadder ending than what fans are currently seeing will be the outcome.

Time is now for Leicester

For all of the issues at LCFC, Vardy has been far from the primary issue. He may have lost a step, but the striker could still produce in a good squad. Even if it were to be a lateral move in terms of a transfer, the attacker deserves an overall less frustrating organization to be a part of.

Vardy's loyalty may end up meaning that he remains and sees out the remaining days with the Foxes. For Leicester, they should do the right thing and pivot entirely toward the younger players and allow him to be part of a more positive atmosphere.
