Up next for FC Barcelona is a clash against Sevilla away from home in La Liga. The Catalan giants know that this game is vitally important for them, and a victory is the only result they want out of it. However, even Sevilla seems to be prepared to take on Barcelona themselves.

Still, the ball is now in Hansi Flick’s court as the Madrid derby ended with a favorable result for the Catalan club. However, it is now time for Barcelona to prove that Diego Simeone’s praise for the team is justified as well, and that can only be done through a strong line-up against Sevilla.

Here is how Hansi Flick’s team could be set up for this upcoming clash.

Expected Line-up:

Goalkeeper: Wojciech Szczesny

With his streak still ongoing in terms of not suffering defeat yet, Wojciech Szczesny will fancy his chances of stopping Sevilla as well. The Polish goalkeeper has been reliable this season, and it seems likely that he will start this encounter as well.

Right-back: Jules Kounde

The Frenchman has been a reliable and consistent player for Hansi Flick’s team this season, so his starting role seems to be more or less guaranteed for this game.

Centre-back: Ronald Araujo

After being benched for the last game, Ronald Araujo could be back in the starting eleven against Sevilla. While he may not possess the same kind of technical skillset that other defenders at Barcelona may have, he brings his own unique strengths and abilities.

Centre-back: Pau Cubarsi

At Barcelona, and perhaps even across Europe’s top leagues, there are very few players who can build out from the back as well as Pau Cubarsi does. Almost a catalyst of sorts when it comes to ball progression within this Barça team, he always makes the team look better when he is on the field.

Left-back: Alejandro Balde

Almost unstoppable at times on the left flank, Alejandro Balde has unlocked a new layer of confidence for himself. This has helped him showcase a much more refined version of himself this season, and it would be a waste of quality not to make use of him in this game.

CDM: Frenkie de Jong

In many ways, the Dutchman has reclaimed his place at Barcelona. With both a contract renewal now looking like something worth addressing as well as finding a place for himself in the starting lineup again, Frenkie de Jong’s new and improved version is a great addition to Flick’s team.

CDM: Pedri

The mastermind behind this Barcelona team, Pedri needs no introduction. Now, in a season where injuries have failed to get to him, the Spaniard has been proving exactly why he deserves to be regarded as one of the best midfielders in world football.

RAM: Lamine Yamal

There is really not much to say about the best youngster in world football right now, and that in itself is saying a lot. The Spanish winger is pivotal to Hansi Flick’s way of playing, and he will likely be starting this upcoming game against Sevilla as well.

CAM: Fermin Lopez

Whenever Fermin Lopez has been given an opportunity this season, he has gone above and beyond to make it count. For this game, if it is still too early for Dani Olmo and Gavi to start, the young Spaniard could be the right pick.

Either through direct goals or assists, Raphinha is always there to provide for the team. Enjoying the form of his life this season, it would not make sense at all for Barcelona to even consider benching him for such an important clash.

Hansi Flick has already confirmed that the Polish centre-forward will be starting this game, but it remains to be seen if the veteran striker can help bring the best out of this team. Another system surely has without him, but it seems that the German coach has faith in the Polish forward.

The person who could feel a bit frustrated with this decision, however, would be Ferran Torres. After scoring a hattrick in his last game and often being a catalyst for several big wins this season, the €28 million-rated forward would have fancied his own chances of potentially winning a starting spot.
