Arne Slot has shared the message of congratulations sent to him by former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after the club’s Premier League title win was confirmed last Sunday.
The Reds secured the title with last weekend’s 5-1 win over Tottenham, and Slot says Klopp reached out with a touching message.
Slot shared that Klopp messaged him to say: “Now you know how special of a club it is. You are part of history.” The message, Slot said, captured just how meaningful the moment was for both fans and the club’s legacy.
The current Liverpool boss also thanked the fans for their support this season: “[I had] a lot of messages and they are nine out of 10 times the same, but they come from a good heart,” Slot said. “Especially on Sunday for Liverpool fans and for me it was one of the best days of our lives.
“From the first day I got here, I’ve felt they’ve supported me and the team. If you win something together it always goes up a notch. It is a game of football but if you win a trophy together it lifts it to a new dimension.”
Now that the title has been secured, Slot revealed that he will rotate his side during the remaining fixtures, ahead of their next game against Chelsea.“My line-ups will be different from the last 10 months,” he said. “We won’t change everyone, but there will be some rotation in the next four games. It won’t be four games with the same line-up we had against Tottenham.”
Right-back Conor Bradley missed the title-clinching game against Spurs after picking up a knock in training in another injury setback. His durability continues to be a talking point especially with speculation surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future at the club.
Slot provided an update on Bradley, saying: “He will train with us today and that’s the first step. We expect him to be available. I don’t know if that means he’ll start but if all goes well, he’ll probably be back in the squad.”
