Liverpool and Tottenham go head-to-head in the Premier League on Sunday, April 27th, at 4:30pm (UK time). The match will be broadcast live in the United Kingdom on Sky Sports Main Event.
Liverpool have won three of their last four meetings with Tottenham, scoring at least four goals in each of them. Their only defeat during that time was 1-0 away in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final clash, with Liverpool winning the second leg 4-0.
Cody Gakpo has scored three goals against Tottenham Hotspur to date, only scoring more against West Ham (5) among English opponents.
There’s every chance Liverpool could come into this game already crowned champions. The Reds’ 2-1 win over West Ham, coupled with Arsenal only drawing 1-1 in their last two games against Everton and Brentford, means they’re 13 points clear at the top with just 18 points left to play for. Should they win here and Arsenal lose away at Ipswich, Liverpool will take the title for the first time in front of supporters since 1990.
Things just keep getting worse for Spurs. The Lilywhites lost 4-2 to Wolves last time out, meaning they’ve now taken just four points from their last six league matches. That’s left Spurs 15th in the table on just 37 points from 32 games. Incredibly, there is still a mathematical chance that Tottenham could be relegated, showing just how poor they’ve been. The only thing keeping Ange Postecoglou in a job is their Europa League run, and they’ll contest the second leg of their quarter-final tie against Eintracht Frankfurt before this match — and a home tie against Nottingham Forest — with the scores currently at 2-2, so who knows where Spurs will be come April 27th.
Liverpool will hope to have Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez back for this match, meaning Arne Slot could have a fully fit squad to choose from.
Radu Dragusin is out until October, but Spurs should have Son Heung-min and Kevin Danso back for this match. That would leave Dragusin as their only absentee, although there are two games to play before they face Liverpool.
As mentioned, Liverpool have run up some rampant wins against Tottenham in recent times, though Spurs have tasted a couple of shock victories.
