The January transfer window gives Ruben Amorim his first chance to mold Manchester United in his image. While bigger changes are expected in the summer, reports indicate that Amorim has already turned his attention to a key player from Paris Saint-Germain.
Manuel Ugarte, one of PSG’s summer signings, has excelled under Amorim in the past, showcasing their strong connection.
Now, rumors are swirling that Amorim wants to reunite with Nuno Mendes, the talented full-back he coached at Sporting Lisbon, and bring him to Old Trafford.
However, Manchester United’s pursuit of Mendes seems to have hit a roadblock. L’Équipe reported that the player is rethinking his future and is now more likely to stay at PSG.
Mendes’ representatives have even suggested the possibility of a contract extension, with Luis Enrique playing a key role in convincing Mendes to remain in Paris. As a result, Manchester United appears to have cooled their interest in the player.
