Manchester United have confirmed the signing of teenage defender Ayden Heaven from rivals Arsenal after he rejected the chance to remain at the Emirates Stadium.
Just months after Manchester United signed talented forward Chido Martin-Obi from the Gunners, they have struck again to poach Heaven, who made his debut earlier in the season in an EFL Cup win over Preston North End.
The 18-year-old has signed a long term contract at Old Trafford, and will join the first team immediately, providing cover for Lisandro Martínez on the left side of defence for Rúben Amorim's side.
“I am incredibly proud to join Manchester United. I’m grateful to everyone who helped make this dream a reality", the youngster explained.
“There is so much that I want to achieve in the game, I’ll be giving everything to continue my development and become the best player that I can be.”
