For the first time since late December, Spurs finally have a league game that will kick off at the traditional day and time of Saturday 3pm, where they head east of the country to take on Ipswich Town.
In typical Spurs fashion, they were the team to give the Tractor boys their first victory in the Premier League this season on matchday 11 in November, falling to a 1-2 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, leaving fans extremely angry and frustrated at the team losing to a side battling relegation.
Recent weeks have seen improvements for Ange Postecoglou and his team however, after going on a terrible run winning one Premier League game in eleven from November the 23rd until the recent defeat to Leicester City in late January, Spurs have managed to win two games in a row in the league for the first time since September, which funnily enough came against the same opponents in the form of Brentford and Manchester United, with James Maddison's close range finish proving to be the difference in last week's win against the Red Devils.
Spurs were delighted to welcome back number one goalkeeper Italian Guglielmo Vicario to the side in last Sunday's victory, and he came back as if he never left, keeping a clean sheet and making six important saves, which earned him a spot in Whoscored's European team of the week.
Key players such as central defenders Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Radu Dragusin will all still be on the sidelines, which means it once again looks like it's gonna be a make shift back four with either Ben Davies or Archie Gray stepping up to fill that position. Strikers Richarlison and Dominic Solanke are also still missing, so Frenchman Mathys Tel will more than likely lead the line and be given the opportunity to try and grab his first goal in the English top flight, to add to his consolation goal at Aston Villa in the FA Cup defeat.
Spurs will have to be weary of young striker Liam Delap, who netted against them in the victory at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium earlier on in the season. The Lilywhites have expressed their interest for the 22-year-old Englishman, along with plenty of other sides looking at the former Manchester City youth player. He has scored ten goals already in the Premier League despite the fact it's looking probable that his side will be relegated straight back to the Championship. Delap is a very complete and well rounded centre forward for his age. His link up play is good, he runs the channels, uses his body well to win fouls, but also to keep defenders pinned back to allow space for his team mates to run into, and most importantly he knows where he goal is.
It will be a tough game, but one Spurs will feel is very winnable against a team right at the bottom of the table and winless in six league games. The North Londoners will go into the game with plenty of confidence after the last two wins, and it's definitely one Ange will know the team needs to come away with three points from if they want to push into the top half of the table. Didn't think anyone would have been saying that in mid February at the start of the season.
The game as previously mentioned is kicking off at 3PM tomorrow afternoon, which means it is not available to watch in the UK due to the traditional blackout rule that doesn't allow any live games to be shown on television during that time, so you can always wait for former Spurs striker and TV presenter Gary Lineker to be on BBC One between 10:20 and 10:30 for Match Of The Day.
