Lionel Messi is reportedly set to miss a second straight match due to concerns over 'muscular overload'.

The MLS side are set to take on Jamaican outfit Cavalier at Chase Stadium this evening, but they will be without their superstar attacker once again.

The Argentina international was absent for Miami's trip to Houston over the weekend in a 4-1 win against the Dynamo, though head coach Javier Mascherano hinted at the idea that is was simple rest for 37-year-old Messi.

"Leo hasn't had any injuries," Mascherano said earlier this week. "Obviously, with the matches, he has felt the fatigue, he has had an overload, but that's why we decided he not go to Houston."

Yet according to Inter Miami insider José Armando, Messi will be kept out this evening against Cavalier to avoid further strain.

The Herons head into the tie as massive favorites to advance, with or without the little magician.
