Christian Pulisic will have little time to gear up for Milan‘s next Serie A fixture against Udinese as he will return from the international back just 48 hours before the match, leaving coach Paulo Fonseca with a further problem in an already delicate moment.

The USA international will play his last match of the two-week hiatus on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday in Mexico, alongside his compatriot Yunus Musah, meaning they will be able to train with the team only on Thursday.

Pulisic has been the Rossoneri’s best player so far, and as much as it’s hard to think he could be kept out of their starting line-up against Udinese, Fonseca could also consider managing his energy as Milan will play three games in the space of a week.

Pulisic and Musah will be able to train with the rest of the Milan squad just 48 hours before the Rossoneri’s home game against Udinese, scheduled for Saturday 19 October.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that their late return from the international break will pose a problem for Fonseca as the two may not be in their best condition, given the lengthy plane trip from Mexico and the little resting time.

The coach will be particularly concerned with Pulisic’s fitness, as he hopes the former Chelsea winger can extend his excellent start to the season which saw him score five goals from Milan’s first seven Serie A outings.

While he’s considered an undisputed starter and arguably an irreplaceable piece in Foseca’s set-up, the Portuguese manager will need to keep the USA star’s condition under control, as the Rossoneri will also play Club Bruges and Bologna in the following seven days.

Milan are urged to bounce back from their second Serie A defeat of the season at Fiorentina, which was marked by some controversial events that persuaded Zlatan Ibrahimovic to visit Milanello during the international break to bring unity back to the group.
