Inter Milan defender Milan Škriniar has been offered to Aston Villa as the Slovakian defender looks to get regular game time.
The centre-back has struggled to make the Paris Saint Germain side this year, playing just 381 minutes for the Ligue 1 Champions.
Villa will be without Pau Torres for around two months, as he recently broke his foot. According to Tom Collomosse of the Daily Mail, Unai Emery wants a replacement.
The 29-year-old is on a reported £200,000 a week and Paris SG believes the Premier League could be the ideal destination for Škriniar. A loan deal maybe an option for Villa as I don’t see us covering all of his wages.
Milan Škriniar began his career in his homeland, Slovakia with Žiar nad Hronom before moving to Žilina at the age of 12. In 2016 he moved to Italy with Sampdoria where he impressed during his only season which earned him a move to Inter Milan in a deal said to be worth around £17 million.
The defender made 246 appearances over six seasons with I Nerazzurri helping them to win Serie A, the Coppa Italia twice and the Supercoppa Italiana twice. Inter were also Champions League runners-up in 2023.
Škriniar announced he would leave Inter at the end of his contract and joined PSG in July 2023 on a five-year deal until 2028. He impressed in his first season helping them to the treble when they won Ligue 1, Coupe de France and the Trophée des Champions before falling out of favour this season.
He has also represented his country 77 times to date.
Villa have been in talks with Borrusia Dortmund of late over winger Donyell Malen but the clubs have failed to reach an agreement yet.
Malen continues to train as normal with BVB and is expected to be in the match-day squad when they face Champions Bayer Leverkusen on Friday.
Collomosse goes on to say that Samuel Chukwueze, who has worked with Emery in the past at Villareal could become an option should they not be able to get the Malen deal over the line.
