🎥 Moreno hits goal of the season contender to celebrate Mother's Day | OneFootball

Portland Timbers jumped to a 1-0 first-half lead against visiting Sporting Kansas City at Providence Park in stunning fashion thanks to a stunning effort from Santiago Moreno.

The 26-year-old Colombian is now in his fifth season with the Timbers but may have just scored the best goal of his full career after bagging an overhead kick to put the home side out in front in the 10th minute.

Not only was his effort a shoo-in to be a contender for MLS Goal of the Season, but the chance to celebrate Mother's Day the right way was too good to pass up after Moreno jumped into the crowd to hug his mother in the stands.

Moreno, who had six goals and fourteen assists in 2024, now sits on three goals and two helpers in 2025 as he looks to hit his stride under Phil Neville once again.
