PSG have reignited their multi-year pursuit of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Napoli are more open to negotiating than in the past. However, it’d take a massive offer for the Georgian to transfer to the French capital, Gianluca Di Marzio informs.
The two teams are in touch to see if there are the premises to reach an agreement. The winger is no longer considered untouchable. The negotiation to prolong and touch up his contract, which runs out in 2027, continues to be complicated.
Napoli ask for €80M for Kvaratskhelia, while PSG started with a lower offer. The Ligue 1 champions were blasted by president Aurelio De Laurentiis for contacting the player directly first last summer, which caused the Azzurri to stiffen their stance. The large salary they dangled has been an issue afterward.
The Serie A side doesn’t want makeweights, but they could accept Milan Skriniar on loan since they need a defender. They’d have a long wish list should they cash in on their star, Corriere dello Sport relays. They recently inquired about Edon Zhegrova and never stopped thinking about Federico Chiesa, even though his agent recently stated he’d stay put. Dan Ndoye, Patrick Dorgu, and Matias Soulé would be options too.
The fact that he’s not having a super-duper season and David Neres blossoming would soften the blow, but it’d still be disappointing if even the arrival of Antonio Conte didn’t buck the trend of their centerpieces leaving for greener pastures. There’s still time to haggle his extension without losing leverage. The suitors seem to have a better chance, but it’ll come down to their bid, as always.
