Napoli are not letting up in their pursuit of Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini.
The midfielder – who has been faced with limited playing time since Claudio Ranieri’s arrival – is being linked with a move away from his boyhood club in January.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a swap deal involving Pellegrini and Raspadori (who is of great interest to Roma) is improbable at the moment due to the difference in salaries of the two players.
Pellegrini has a heavy salary at Roma for the next 18 months, but Napoli could spread it over a four-year contract to convince him to accept, reassures the newspaper.
One thing is certain: Napoli’s interest in Pellegrini is real and Antonio Conte’s side will do whatever it takes to assess the possibility of bringing him in already in January given the midfielder’s increasingly unstable position at Roma.
