The relationship between Garnacho and Amorim took a hit after United’s 1-0 loss to Tottenham in the Europa League final, when the winger was left on the substitutes’ bench until the 71st minute.

“Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don’t know,” Garnacho said after full-time.

“The final will influence [my decision] but the whole season, the situation of the club. I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens afterwards.”

Napoli also made advances in an attempt to sign Garnacho during the winter transfer window following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s €70m departure for Paris Saint-Germain.

In the end, Napoli did not sign a permanent replacement for the Georgian in the winter transfer window, instead opting for a series of loan deals for Noah Okafor, Philip Billing and goalkeeper Simone Scuffet, plus a €500,000 investment on youngster Luis Hasa.

However, Monday’s reports claim that Napoli are still interested in pursuing a deal for Garnacho in the summer transfer window.

The Partenopei are preparing for a return to the Champions League in 2025-26, and are already plotting moves on the transfer market, including a potential deal for free agent Kevin De Bruyne.

Napoli are hoping to add Garnacho to their list of summer recruits as well, with a price tag in the region of €50m quoted by The i.

Napoli had sought a deal in the region of €40m during the winter transfer window, while United had previously sought a fee in the region of €60m.
