Wingback Denzel Dumfries has won praise for a “relentless” attacking display for Inter Milan in yesterday’s Serie A draw with Lazio.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, hail the Dutchman for his direct play down the flank and his bullet header.
Denzel Dumfries has been in a real run of form for Inter Milan.
The 29-year-old had been the Nerazzurri’s outstanding player across the two legs of their Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.
Dumfries consistently looked to be Inter’s most dangerous outlet in that tie.
However, Dumfries’s efforts against Barcelona meant that he got a rest in Inter’s league outings against the likes of Hellas Verona and Torino.

But Dumfries was back in the starting eleven for yesterday’s match against Lazio.
And the former PSV wingback showed just how important he has become to this Inter team in attack.
Denzel Dumfries pushed Lazio wingback Nuno Tavares back time and time again.
And the Dutchman was consistently able to get himself in space in and around the penalty area.
There were crosses and shots from Dumfries all through both the first and second half.
And in the second half, Dumfries produced an absolute bullet header that temporarily put Inter back ahead. In both the match and in the title race.
