Manchester United have reportedly resumed their dialogue with Napoli who remain keen to sign Alejandro Garnacho.
The Serie A leaders have sold their top star Khvicha Kvaratahselia to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month for a whooping €75 million. Therefore, they have been on the lookout for a new winger to fill the massive void left by the Georgian’s departure.
The Southern Italians have identified Garnacho as their primary objective, while the latter could be enticed by the prospect of playing his football at a stadium named after his iconic countryman Diego Armando Maradona.
Nevertheless, the first round of negotiations proved fruitless, as they two clubs failed to bridge the gap between them, even when the Red Devils reportedly dropped their asking price to circa £60 million. Napoli then enquired about Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi, but have yet to make significant progress on that track.
But according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, the Partenopei will hold new direct talks with Man Utd in the coming hours. The source thus expects Napoli to formulate a new offer, so it remains to be seen if it will include a considerable raise that would unlock the operation.

Nevertheless, it should mentioned that Garnacho has recently returned to Ruben Amorim’s good graces, and has been regularly featuring in the starting lineup as of late. While the Portuguese admitted he doesn’t know whether or not the 20-year-old will remain at the club, he revealed his desire to keep the young man at Carrington.
Garnacho is also well-admired by his United teammates, with his club captain Bruno Fernandes considering him a special player who’s capable of changing the outcome of the match.
The youngster has made 38 appearances across all competitions this season, contributing with eight goals and five assists.
