It’s now official! Marcus Rashford has finally left Manchester United, joining Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season.

After months of speculations regarding the striker’s future, including links with a host of clubs across Europe and beyond, the Villains suddenly burst onto the scene and managed to seal a swift deal with the Red Devils as well as the player’s entourage.

This came only a few days following the sale of Jhon Duran who joined Al-Nassr on a massive deal, thus leaving Unai Emery with a deficiency upfront which they decided to fill by signing the England international.

The parties sorted out the deal on Saturday, so the player bid his Man Utd teammates farewell and left Carrington. On Sunday, he completed his routine medical tests and passed them successfully before signing his contract with Villa who have now announced the transfer on their official website.

“Aston Villa is delighted to announce the loan signing of Marcus Rashford from Manchester United,” reads the official note.

“The England international, capped 60 times by the Three Lions, joins Villa on a deal until the end of the season.

“Rashford has scored 138 goals in over 400 appearances having come through the ranks at Old Trafford and has lifted the Europa League, two FA Cups and two League Cups with his boyhood club.

“The versatile forward, who can play anywhere along the front line, has also netted 17 goals in an England shirt and has represented his country at two World Cups and two European Championships.

“Welcome, Marcus!”

For his part, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reveals the details of the operation. While the official announcement from Aston Villa only mentions a loan, the transfer market expert believes the Villains will also have an option to buy at the end of the season for £40 million.

The Champions League boys will also cover 75% of the player’s salary, while United will contribute with the remaining part.
