Inter Milan and AC Milan are working to try and build a new stadium to replace the San Siro.

The two clubs have already had a couple major changes of plans.

First, the clubs tried to get approval to tear down the San Siro and build a a new structure in the iconic stadium’s place.

When bureaucratic obstacles made this impossible, Inter and Milan decided to go their separate ways. They both pursued plans to build outside the city of Milan in the greater metropolitan area.

But then, the city of Milan and Mayor Beppe Sala lured the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri back.

Initially, Sala tried to convince the clubs of plans to renovate the San Siro.

This did not convince the clubs. However, they did accept the idea of building a new stadium in the San Siro, adjacent to the existing stadium.
