Jonathan David, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona and many other leading European sides, has revealed he'd like to play in La Liga one day.
The 25-year-old has scored 23 goals across all competitions this season, including seven in ten Champions League appearances, and recently confirmed that he'll leave current employers Lille in the summer following the expiry of his contract.
David has been at Lille for five years, scoring over 100 goals for the club to establish himself as one of French football's most feared forwards. But despite intense transfer speculation in the past, he's not yet taken the next step in his career.
With new horizons looming, and the chances of a high-profile switch increased because he'll be available for free, David has spoken on where he'd like to play in the future – with his answer a blow to those looking to lure him to England.
"To be honest, I think I can adapt to every League. Every league has their differences. I think the Premier League is a lot faster and more physical than all the other leagues," David said on the It's Called Soccer! podcast.
"But I grew up watching a lot of La Liga. I wouldn’t say that would be my preferred league, but I think that’s a league that I enjoyed watching the most… I think one day, I would like to play there. But will that happen? I don’t know. I’m not opposed to anything, and we’ll just see where the future takes us."

David has been also been linked to West Ham United, who are looking to sign a regular goalscorer for next season. But the Canadian international has given little away about what his next move will actually be – instead just detailing his desire to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
"I will be free at the end of the season. And as for my future, I hope to grow, to become a better player, and to play for the biggest clubs in the world, if I can," David told French publication Onze Mondial.
"But first of all, I just want to have fun, never forget that football is fun. I started playing football because I had fun. And even though it has now become my job, you have to remember that I wake up every morning for football, for the pleasure of playing. Do you want any clues about my future?
"You will all know, in due time, that is at the end of the season. I will not comment before then. First of all, I want to finish this season well, the end looks exciting and I want to play well and help the team. And when the season is over, the decision will be made and announced."
