The transfer window is officially open for Premier League clubs and we’ve looked at one ideal summer signing for each team.

June 1st brings a mini-window due to the Club World Cup, allowing teams to sign and register players over a 10-day period. The transfer window then opens again on June 16th until September 1st.

One ideal summer signing for each Premier League club

Arsenal – Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig)

Arsenal’s need for a centre-forward is apparent and there are few better prospects than Benjamin Sesko. The 22-year-old has scored 39 goals in 87 games for RB Leipzig over the last two seasons and is a player Arsenal admire.

Sesko’s combines thunderous shooting with the physical profile to thrive in the Premier League. At 6ft 5in and with a huge leap, he’d be another potent weapon for the league’s set-piece specialists.

Aston Villa – Vanja Milinković-Savić (Torino)

Emiliano Martinez’s expected exit will leave Aston Villa with a huge hole to fill. Vanja Milinković-Savić could be the perfect solution.

The 6ft 6in Serbian shot-stopper has been one of Serie A’s best goalkeepers this season, ranking third in Europe’s top five leagues for expected goals prevented. A commanding figure, he has just a year left on his contract and is ready for a new challenge.

Bournemouth – Mario Gila (Lazio)

Replacing Dean Huijsen will be no easy task but Bournemouth’s recruitment team have barely missed in recent windows. Lazio defender Mario Gila has been named as an option and it’s clear to see why.

The ex-Real Madrid academy graduate ranked in the elite percentiles of Serie A’s centre-backs for progressive passes (93rd) and progressive carries (89th) last season. At 24, he’s a player with room to develop further.

Brentford – Tyler Dibling

Southampton slapped a £100m price tag on Tyler Dibling earlier this year, but relegation means a more realistic valuation is expected this summer. Despite interest from the division’s top clubs, Dibling may opt for a more gradual step up.

A Brentford side searching for a Bryan Mbeumo replacement on the right could be an ideal landing place. The Bees have the financial capacity to spend big this summer.

Brighton – Mohamed Amoura (Union Saint-Gilloise)

After an outstanding season on loan at Wolfsburg, could Brighton hijack Mohamed Amoura’s move to the German side from the Tony Bloom-owned Belgian outfit?

Amoura scored 10 goals and created nine more on loan in the Bundesliga last season. Wolfsburg have a €20m purchase option for the Algerian forward.

Burnley – Ricardo Pepi (PSV Eindhoven)

Burnley conceded just 16 goals in the Championship last season, but scoring them at the other end was not so easy. Just three players managed more than five league goals, while top scorer Josh Brownhill is out of contract and yet to sign a new deal.

Ricardo Pepi enjoyed a productive, if frustrating, season at PSV Eindhoven. The 22-year-old scored 17 goals, despite starting just seven games in all competitions.

The American will want a regular role ahead of next summer’s World Cup in his homeland.

Chelsea – Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa)

Chelsea are back in the Champions League but have urgent areas to address. Their goalkeeping and centre-back options have failed to convince and upgrades are required.

Though the focus has been on emerging talent, a move for an experienced shot-stopper could take Enzo Maresca’s team up a level. Emi Martinez’s expected exit from Aston Villa is a market opportunity to be considered.

Crystal Palace – Harvey Elliott (Liverpool)

Eberechi Eze has plenty of suitors and Crystal Palace may need to look for replacements. Harvey Elliott’s availability is a deal that could be astute.

The 22-year-old has proven his quality at Liverpool but needs regular minutes to avoid stalling his development.

Everton – Lorenzo Lucca (Udinese)

Despite Beto’s emergence as a cult favourite, Everton are in need of forward threat. Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks likely to leave and Armando Broja’s loan from Chelsea was a disaster.

Lorenzo Lucca fits the bill for the Toffees, a 6ft 7in powerhouse who dominates in the air. In a team that has traditionally threatened from set-pieces, he could thrive. Lucca hit 12 goals in Serie A in 2024/25.

Fulham – Douglas Luiz (Juventus)

Sander Berge and Sasa Lukic have been a solid midfield pair for Fulham, but depth and drive are required. Douglas Luiz’s move to Juventus has not been the success hoped and the Brazilian is reportedly open to a Premier League return.

Leeds United – Marcin Bulka (Nice)

Illan Meslier’s turbulent time at Leeds looks set to end this summer with the newly-promoted side targeting a new goalkeeper.

Marcin Bulka has turned the heads of Premier League clubs, with some solid shot-stopping in France. The Polish goalkeeper is a huge 6ft 6in presence, excellent at coming for crosses, and has just 12 months remaining on his contract. A cut-price deal could suit Leeds who do not have huge money to spend.

Liverpool – Hugo Ekitike (Eintracht Frankfurt)

Liverpool have wasted no time in pursuing deals with Jeremie Frimpong in the door and deals for Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez expected. Next on the agenda will be a striker and Hugo Ekitike is a player who has caught the eye of the Reds’ recruitment team.

The 22-year-old scored 22 goals and provided 13 assists for Frankfurt in 2024/25 while ranking in the top seven percent of forwards in Europe for shots, successful take-ons, progressive carries and chances created.

Though far from the finished article (with the highest xG underperformance in Germany), Ekitike is a hugely exciting prospect. Given the quality of Liverpool’s forward line, it’s a risk they can take.

Manchester City – Tijjani Reijnders (AC Milan)

Manchester City are working on a deal for Tijjani Reijnders and it’s a transfer that makes a lot of sense. The Dutchman shone in a poor AC Milan team this season, scoring 15 times from midfield and impressing with his box-to-box energy.

City looked aged in midfield and Reijnders could be the refresh required.

Manchester United – Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting CP)

Ruben Amorim is understood to be concerned with the physical profile of his team, with Manchester United lacking athleticism, power and goals. Viktor Gyokeres ticks all the boxes and thrived under Amorim at Sporting Lisbon.

He’s scored 97 goals in 102 games over the last two seasons and would be an instant ceiling-raiser at Old Trafford. The problem is likely to be persuading Gyokeres to turn down the Champions League for Old Trafford.

Newcastle United – Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford)

Even given Jacob Murphy’s contribution this season, the right-wing has been an area Newcastle have looked to upgrade in recent windows.

Bryan Mbeumo is an ideal option, a Premier League-proven performer with goals, creativity, and the intensity Eddie Howe demands. A forward line of Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak and Bryan Mbeumo is Champions League quality.

Nottingham Forest – Ermedin Demirović (Stuttgart)

Chris Wood has just had his best Premier League season but the 33-year-old will not be around forever. Ermedin Demirovic is considering his options this summer and could help supplement Wood with the added load of European football in 2025/26.

The 27-year-old scored 15 goals in the Bundesliga despite starting just 20 games. Only Patrik Schick and Omar Marmoush bettered his return for non-penalty goals per 90 minutes (0.73).

Sunderland – Lucas Stassin (Saint-Etienne)

Goals are vital for the survival hopes of any newly promoted side. Sunderland’s leading scorer managed just 13 league goals in the second tier and reinforcements are required for Regis Le Bris.

Lucas Stassin is a fascinating profile for the Black Cats. The Frenchman is the right age for Sunderland’s model (20) and scored 12 non-penalty goals for a Saint-Etienne side that finished 19th in Ligue 1.

He has a €20m price tag after relegation, a fee within reach for Sunderland.

Tottenham Hotspur – Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth)

Ange Postecoglou is preparing for the Champions League after Europa League success salvaged Spurs’ season.

An explosive wide player is on the agenda, with Son Heung-min lacking the dynamism of his peak. Antoine Semenyo has pace and power to burn and elevated his end product with 11 league goals in 2024/25.

He could provide an injection of electricity into the Spurs side.

West Ham United – Nick Woltemade (Stuttgart)

West Ham can not afford to get another striker signing wrong. The Hammers have wasted fortunes on centre-forwards in recent windows without finding the right fit. Nick Woltemade is a hugely exciting option that could take Graham Potter’s side up a level.

The German combines a 6ft 6in frame with delicate footwork and dribbling and enjoyed a breakout season with Stuttgart to score 12 goals in 17 starts.

The 23-year-old has seven goals in 12 caps for Germany at u-21 level and was called into the senior squad this month.

Wolves – Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (Chelsea)

With Matheus Cunha leaving for Manchester United, Wolves need to add goals from midfield.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s move to Chelsea has not quite worked out, but 26 goals and assists during Leicester’s promotion-winning campaign prove his quality. A return to the Midlands could suit all parties.
