It was the Cole Palmer show at Stamford Bridge today – isn’t it always? But with the Sky Sports cameras there, there was plenty of extra content to enjoy as the Chelsea attacking midfielder played a decisive role in a win yet again.

Among his biggest fans on the day were Roy Keane and Gianfranco Zola – that really is both ends of the personality spectrum – and later on pundit Jamie Carragher adding his two cents:

“That is one of the best passes I’ve seen, never mind this season, but in the Premier League,” the former Liverpool defender said on Sky Sports.

“It takes two or three Newcastle players out and then Neto sets it up on a plate for Jackson.”

Sky also ran a simultaneous poll which asked if it was the best pass of the Premier League season so far. As of now, it has 73% of votes in favour.

We can’t claim to have seen every pass in the league this season, but it’s hard to imagine there being many better. The vision, the execution, it was all perfect. And it was just the start – he did about 4 other jaw dropping things in the game, as per usual. We really feel blessed to be watching him.

Cole Palmer’s celebration after Newcastle goal.

Carragher right as Palmer continues to deliver while other areas continue to struggle

Palmer is delivering and getting rests in midweek. The team is really attacking well – the pass for the first goal was out of this world and it was representative of our vicious counter-attacking play which was on display again today.

Other areas of this team still need work – the defending, the goalkeeping, the game management, the playing in possession. But the counter attacking is sorted, and that’s all thanks to a certain Mr Palmer.
