Leyton Orient held their nerve in a dramatic penalty shoot-out to get past Stockport County and secure a place in the League One play-off final.
Ollie O´Neill gave the visitors an early lead, but the tie was far from over. Isaac Olaofe pulled one back for Stockport with 16 minutes to go, levelling things up on the night.
After 90 minutes and extra time, it finished 1-1 at Edgeley Park – and 3-3 on aggregate – meaning it all came down to spot-kicks.
It all came down to penalties, and Orient were spot on. Tom James, Sean Clare, Azeem Abdulai and Ethan Galbraith all tucked theirs away confidently.
Meanwhile, Josh Keeley saved from Jack Diamond and Ryan Rydel struck the post, handing Orient a 4-1 shoot-out win.
Now, they’re just one game away from a return to the Championship - something they haven’t achieved since 1982. They’ll face either Charlton Athletic or Wycombe Wanderers in the final at Wembley.
