The Manchester City manager revealed that Oscar Bobb played in a friendly with Manchester City’s EDS side this week. Guardiola explained that the Norwegian international is continuing to work his way back to full fitness. Guardiola explained: “He’s training now regularly and feels really better. He played a friendly game yesterday with the second team because he has to be on the pitch. It’s difficult for me because all the people up front are available. We want to bring him some minutes and that’s why it’s going to happen. It’s difficult to dictate how he feels just in training. It’s good to see for himself in his mind he’s fine and perfect and that he can do what he wants to do. Then he will have the same chances with the other ones to be in the team.”

Oscar Bobb’s return to Manchester City’s first team appears to be imminent.

Based on the fact that Oscar Bobb played in a friendly this week it does appear that he won’t feature in today’s match against Brighton. But the fact he has played indicates that his return to the Manchester City squad is imminent. Perhaps it will come after the upcoming international break. Following today’s match Manchester City aren’t in action for two weeks until their FA Cup quarter-final clash against Bournemouth. That game may be when we finally see Oscar Bobb return to the Manchester City matchday squad.

But it now finally appears that Oscar Bobb is nearing a return to full fitness. He continues to tick the boxes required in his recovery from the fractured leg that derailed his 24/25 season. If Bobb can get some minutes in before the end of the season, it could potentially set him up for a big 25/26 season and FIFA Club World Cup campaign.
