Pictures have emerged of Erik ten Hag leaving the country following his Manchester United sacking.
Earlier on Monday, United released a statement confirming that Ten Hag has stepped down from his role at the club, 116 days after the extension of his contract.
The final straw was United’s 2-1 loss at the hands of West Ham on Sunday.
A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the decision to permanently part ways with the Dutchman was made “collectively and unanimously.”
A few hours after news of his firing emerged, The Daily Mail published images of Ten Hag leaving for their airport.
He can be seen inside a vehicle, seemingly trying to evade the cameras.
The newspaper also stated, “The 54-year-old made a swift exit from Manchester after being spotted being picked up by a chaffeur and taken to Manchester airport before boarding a flight headed to Amsterdam.”
“The flight had initially been scheduled to leave at 2pm however Ten Hag was hit with yet another obstacle as his departure time got delayed until 4:14pm, as per FlightRadar.”
The Mirror also revealed images of their own, in which Ten Hag is seen saying his goodbyes as he boards a jet back to the Netherlands.
The photo shows Ten Hag in an embrace with a member of airport staff.
In their statement, United noted that Ruud van Nistelrooy will temporarily step in while the hierarchy embarks on a search for a more permanent replacement.
The Red Devils return to action on Wednesday when they face Leicester City in the Carabao Cup.
