Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to 11 points with a 2-0 win away at Manchester City on Sunday.
Arsenal crumbled to a 1-0 home defeat against West Ham United the previous day to leave their title hopes looking remote.
Here are the individuals who shone on Matchday 27:
In a tight game of few chances, where most of Manchester City’s shots on target came from distance, Allison ensured there were no spills and rebounds for the strikers to pounce upon.
Liverpool scored twice in the first half and saw out the game with minimum fuss, with their goalkeeper’s commanding presence playing a big part.
West Ham produced a shock result by leaving with all three points from their visit to Arsenal for only their second win under Graham Potter.
The Hammers were buoyed by a rock-solid performance by Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who allowed no chances of note to be created down Arsenal’s left-hand side.
The right-back also made a difference at the other end of the pitch on the cusp of half-time, crossing for Jarrod Bowen to head in the only goal of the game.
Crystal Palace picked up three points at Fulham, thanks to a miserly defensive display.
Oliver Glasner’s side gave up 62% of the possession to Palace but restricted them to an xG (expected goals) number of just 0.20.
Maxence Lacroix hardly let Raul Jimenez have a kick in the Palace penalty area, winning all seven of his duels.
Wolverhampton Wanderers moved five points clear of the relegation zone with a 1-0 victory at high-flying Bournemouth.
The home side played almost an hour with ten men after centre-back Illia Zabarnyi was shown a red card.
Matheus Cunha scored five minutes after the sending-off, and Wolves remained compact thereafter to see the game out.
Portuguese defender Toti Gomes won all of his six duels, made four interceptions and progressed the ball with 52 passes, more than anyone else in the team.
Newcastle United beat fellow Europe-chasing Nottingham Forest in a seven-goal thriller at St. James’ Park.
Lewis Hall was an absolute monster at left-back, bombing up and down the pitch while having the highest successful tackles and duels among both sides.
He also provided the assist for Lewis Miley’s equalising goal, and wreaked the havoc which culminated in Jacob Murphy netting the Magpies’ second.
Hall had 94 touches during the game, also the most of anyone on the pitch.
With Joelinton out injured and Sandro Tonali only fit enough to make the bench, Miley had a huge responsibility against Forest.
The 18-year-old more than held his own and scored the first Premier League goal of his career to level matters after Callum Hudson-Odoi’s opener.
This began a flurry of four goals in 11 minutes for the Geordies. The visitors struck back twice in the second half through Nikola Milenkovic and Ryan Yates but could not equalise.
Liverpool’s 2-0 win at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday opened up an 11-point lead at the top.
Mohamed Salah was involved in both goals, opening the scoring with a deflected effort following a well-worked corner before setting up Dominik Szoboszlai for the second.
The Egyptian’s incredible Premier League tally now stands at 25 goals and 16 assists – he is comfortably the league’s top scorer this season.
After a highly-publicised loan move from Paris Saint-Germain last month, Marco Asensio announced himself in style at Villa Park on Saturday.
The Spaniard scored both goals as Unai Emery’s side came from behind to inflict further misery on Chelsea with a 2-1 victory.
Both Asensio’s goals, which included an 87th-minute winner, were set up by another big-name January loan signing, Marcus Rashford.
Matheus Cunha scored for the 13th time in the Premier League to secure a 1-0 win for Wolves at Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Brazilian has been a real difference-maker for his side and is doing everything he can to ensure Wolves avoid the drop.
Spurs won for the second week in a row in the Premier League, thumping Ipswich Town 4-1 at Portman Road on Saturday.
Brennan Johnson netted a brace in his first start in over a month, taking his tally of Premier League goals this season to nine.
The 23-year-old will be key for Tottenham to have a strong end to an otherwise forgettable season.
After a mini-drought of four games without a goal in all competitions, Alexander Isak returned to form in the 4-3 win over Forest.
The Swede scored twice in as many minutes in the first half, first with an audacious penalty past Mats Sels and then with a left-footed effort on the turn.
Newcastle’s push for Champions League football next season depends on their number nine, who now has 19 Premier League goals this term.
