Ibrox Noise
·14 de enero de 2025
Beyond frustrated rangers fans keep talking about the board the owners and a potential takeover.
There is an absolute desperation for new ownership rather than the currently despised regime, even although most of the board members these days are new on the job.
Sack the board is a common theme coming from frustration at what is seen as a lack of ambition from the current regime.
Plenty of click bait sites are using takeover talk and big millions as a way for hits but the problem is that no current shareholders want to sell.
The reality is that Rangers are stuck as we have discussed many times on Ibrox noise – with so many separate shareholder groups and no one majority it is hard to find someone willing to waste millions of pounds to buy a 50+ percent shareholding group.
Because existing shareholders would want to sell at a profit and no rich person wants to waste money.
Even John Halstead who is in charge of $1.5 billion of assets and has money coming out of his backside is only willing to offer a loan facility.
So if the richest man on Rangers board will only loan money rather than taking the club over then who else is going to do the job instead.
Then there’s the fundamental issue that shareholders simply don’t want to sell. Douglas Park especially refuses to sell his 15% and Dave King has caused problems in the past with selling his.
In simple terms all the talk you see in press about takeovers is next to impossible which we have discussed many many times.
Unless somebody with a lot of money and the patience of a saint is willing to lose a lot of that money and persuade several different stubborn shareholders to sell there will be no change to the current situation.
No one single group seems to be willing to sell so how anyone can get several of them to do so is going to be beyond difficult.
