Rayan Cherki says yes to Manchester City

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Rayan Cherki (21) has said yes to joining Manchester City after the Premier League side recently opened talks with the Olympique Lyonnais star.

The French outlet writes that there are no issues between the two parties on personal terms, and that the Manchester City head coach, Pep Guardiola, has spoken to the Lyon academy product about the project.

The transfer is expected to be worth around €40 million, with City moving fast due in part to the upcoming Club World Cup, but also because they understand that Cherki will be a target for multiple clubs across Europe.

During the summer transfer window, Lyon had reached an agreement with Fulham for the transfer of the creative midfielder. However, the player rejected this opportunity. In January, Borussia Dortmund were linked with a move but reportedly came in too late to convince Lyon to part ways.
