RB Leipzig’s Eljif Elmas is reportedly on his way out of the Bundesliga. Sky Germany’s Philipp Hinze reports that the Saxony club will send the North Macedonian international back to the Serie A.
A loan to Torino FC will ship the 25-year-old back down south. A reported purchase option of €18m may keep Elmas in the league he once thrived permanently. The attacking midfielder/winger has seen his estimated market worth decline from €24m to €12 since joining RB.
Leipzig signed Elmas to much fanfare in December 2023. Since then, however, RB trainer Marco Rose has found scant use for him. Elmas hasn’t gotten his name on the scoresheet in 16 Bundesliga appearances. He’s also failed to register a goal or assist in the Pokal and Champions’ League.
A total of 14 goals in 143 Serie A appearances likely leaves the Skopje-native eager to return to a league in which he’s enjoyed verifiable success. Elmas also netted five Europa League goals when representing his old club SSC Napoli.
