According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are yet to receive an official offer from Palmeiras for Vitor Roque, but Real Betis are keeping a close watch on the situation.

This is because if an offer does come through and is accepted, Betis will demand financial compensation to allow the move to happen.

It must be noted that Roque’s future remains uncertain. The young striker is under contract with Barcelona until June 2031, while his current loan deal with Betis runs until June 30, with an option to extend for another season.

However, Palmeiras’ strong interest in signing him could change things unexpectedly.

What’s the situation like?

As of now, Barcelona have not been approached formally by Palmeiras regarding the forward. The Catalan club signed him in January 2024 for a fixed fee of €30 million, with an additional €31 million in variables that have yet to be triggered.

Betis, on the other hand, are yet to receive any indication from either Barcelona or the player himself about a potential early departure.

Their manager Manuel Pellegrini is currently counting on Roque, especially given that the club’s most recent attacking acquisition, Cucho Hernández, is not registered for the Europa League.

So with a crucial fixture against Gent in the knockout playoffs on the horizon, Roque could feature in the starting lineup.

Betis will demand compensation

Despite this, the possibility of an exit remains open. The Brazilian transfer window is still active until February 28, meaning there is time for Palmeiras to make a formal move.

If Barcelona were to present Betis with a proposal for Roque’s departure, Betis will not let him go without financial compensation.

Betis are firm in their stance—they will not part ways with Roque without receiving a fair settlement. Their conditions include recovering the amount they have already spent on the Brazilian or increasing their stake in the future rights of Ez Abde.

They are determined to ensure that any potential departure benefits them financially before giving their approval.
