History awaits a member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid on Friday night.

That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards the iconic Luka Modrić as the player in question.

Real Madrid are of course primed to kick the club’s campaign back into gear later this evening, in a rescheduled La Liga meeting with Valencia.

The aforementioned Modrić will for his part be expected to play at least some part at Mestalla, be it from the off, or from the bench during the 2nd-half.

And, should as much prove to be the case, the Croatian international will etch his name ever further into the history books of the Spanish champions.

As per AS, this comes with Modrić set to equal both Pirri and Míchel in 10th place on the list of all-time appearance makers for Real Madrid.

Friday’s will mark the former Tottenham Hotspur man’s 561st in the colours of Los Blancos.
