After last night’s victory over RCD Mallorca in the Spanish Super Cup finals, Real Madrid started preparations for the final against bitter rivals Barcelona which will be played on Sunday.

The Merengues have been sweating over the fitness of key players Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Luka Modric heading into the contest.

Modric missed the semi-final due to illness while Tchouameni suffered a blow to the head during the game leading to his substitution.

Meanwhile, both Valverde and Bellingham sustained adductor strains during the match which cast doubts over their presence for Sunday’s clash.

All four players will be ready

Now, in a major boost for Real Madrid, journalist Melchor Ruiz of COPE reports that Modric, Bellingham, Tchouameni, and Valverde will all be available for Sunday’s final against Barcelona.

This comes as a huge relief for Carlo Ancelotti & co. considering how important each of the aforementioned stars is for the manager and the Merengues.

Valverde is an ever-present in the middle of the park for the reigning Spanish champions while Bellingham has been the in-form man in recent months – even scoring a goal in the semi-final vs Mallorca.

Tchouameni, meanwhile, has been trusted by Ancelotti to fill in at centre-back following Eder Militao’s long-term injury, which the Frenchman has done ably.

As for Modric, despite his advancing age, he continues to be a key cog, making vital contributions. Having a player of his quality and experience in a high-profile final, that too against Barcelona, can be a huge bonus.

Real Madrid will be aiming to win the third trophy of the season, having already bagged the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

However, Barcelona got the better of them in the first Clasico of the season and as such, Ancelotti & co. will have a fight on their hands come Sunday.
