Ruben Amorim started work as Manchester United head coach this week and has delivered his first interview in the job to the club’s in-house media.
The Portuguese coach won’t address traditional media until his first pre-match press conference after the international break.
United take on Ipswich Town away from home in Amorim’s first game in charge. That means he will have to wait for his first showdown at Old Trafford.
This week, Amorim has been using some of his time to visit Old Trafford, where he has conducted his first interview in the job.
Speaking to MUTV about the history of the stadium, he explained that he already feels at home in his new surroundings.
“You watch on TV and you know that it’s big and it’s impressive, but when you are here you can feel it and I think you feel the history,” Amorim said.
“I’m really, really proud to be a Manchester United coach, so it’s amazing. It’s a real honour to be here.”
The interviewer warned Amorim about the weight that exists over Old Trafford, but the coach is relaxed about what awaits him in the hotseat at the biggest football club in the world.
“That’s really funny because I feel very relaxed,” he added.
“Maybe because it’s not gameday, when we have a game I’m a different guy but I really don’t feel the weight. I’m really excited and I’m quite relaxed you know. I think I am where I am supposed to be. That’s the feeling.”
MUTV are holding back on releasing the entire interview with Amorim until later on Friday night.

International breaks are typically dull, but the arrival of Amorim has brought excitement to United.
Ruud van Nistelrooy stopped the rot as caretaker coach, winning three of his four games in charge, but Amorim is tasked with making the side a consistent force in the Premier League. He will try to do that now without Van Nistelrooy as part of his coaching staff as the Dutchman has left the club.
The objective now is to get off to a winning start against Ipswich and start making up for lost ground in the league.
United also need to improve on their European form.
