Serie A leaders Napoli will likely meet runners-up Inter Milan in a decisive league clash without David Neres.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Brazilian winger faces up to 40 days on the sidelines.
Indeed, David Neres picked up a thigh injury in Napoli’s home draw against Udinese on Sunday.
Therefore, he could only return to the squad for a match against newly promoted Venezia in mid-March.
As such, Inter won’t need to worry about his trademark runs down the flank early next month.
Napoli failed to sign a proper replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who joined Paris Saint-Germain in January.
Despite vying for several high-profile alternatives, they had to settle for a loan deal for AC Milan misfit Noah Okafor.

With Neres on the treatment table, Antonio Conte will have a sizeable headache come the Scudetto six-pointer in March.
In addition to the ex-Benfica star, Giacomo Raspadori and Cyril Ngonge have recently struggled with injures.
That makes for bleak reading as Conte’s charges can’t afford a slip-up in the most significant game of the season.
